Vaisakhi Celebrations 2004

The Vaisakhi Festival 2004 kicked doff in Southall and Hounslow on the 4th of April with an expected crowd turnout of over 40,000. The celebrations continued throughout April and May in London , Birmingham, Slough, Gravesend, Bradford, Leicester, Coventry, East Ham, Wolverhampton & woolwich, with an overall expected attendance of over 80,000 people.

Hindu Cultural Society (North London) joined in the celebrations with great enthusiasm. Mr. GS Gujral CBE, President of the International Punjabi Society and a renowned community personality was the chief guest. Also present was Shri, Trilocan Singh Sahni, President of the Central Gurudwara, London who gave an enlightening speech. Appreciation, prizes and blessings were given by the honoured guests to the young participants in the cultural programme that followed the speeches. The programme concluded with Aarti and Shaanti Paath followed by Preeti Bhojan.

The International Punjabi Society celebrated Vaisakhi at Laguna Banqueting Hall with the entertainment on the evening provided by the famous and talented singers. Nitu & Mahesh Gadhvi. The Punjabi Society Of The British Isles also chose the Laguna Banqueting Hall as the venue for their boisterous Vaisakhi evening.
