Seminar Report at Benares Restaurant

India Link International Business Forum held its fourth business luncheon at Benares on Thursday 3rd June 2004. The Seminar commenced with a welcome-address by Dr.SP Sharma , the President of the Forum .

Mr. Robert W. Atkinson
, Managing Director of Rivlin International Limited, a leading International Health-care specialist who knows the Indian sub-continent well and posesses 50 plus years of in-line experience in the Industry spoke of the 'great and virtually untapped Indian Health sector.

He outlined the history of foray and an indelible mark made in the Indian Health-sector by his Company in association with Mr. P. Venkata Ramana , an International Corporate Lawyer with multi-faceted interests & abilities based in Hyderabad ( India ) , over the last decade and more .

He further pointed out that the list of clients of his Company …'ranges from ones which are modest but which with an injection of funds could grow very rapidly right up to three well-established ,cash-generating hospitals whose owners ,for the usual reasons, are prepared to relinquish control …these groups could be put together to form a formidable profit-producing group…' Besides, he pointed out that 'due to the rapidly growing numbers of individuals now well able to pay for private health-care for themselves and their families, we are telling our clients that it is time to go full steam ahead into this wonderful market - place of great opportunities..' .

Mr. P.Venkata Ramana then took the floor and guided the distinguished gathering through a wide spectrum covering different parameters ,situations, causative factors, facts, statistical findings, opportunities available , new avenues, advantages & benefits of investing , policies on the anvil as also a complete analysis of the emerging Indian Health-care Industry --- in short, a ringside view of investment opportunities available in the Indian Health-care Sector was provided by the Main Speaker of the Seminar .

Mr. Rajan , former Deputy High Commissioner of India in UK also spoke of the advantages and safety of investments made in India s well as the business prudence of doing so under the current social situation prevalent across the world .

Mr. Krishan Ralleigh ,the General Secretary of the Forum thanked the speakers and chaired the 'question & answers' session which saw a variety of questions being fielded by a very absorbed audience and as happily answered by Mr. P.Venkata Ramana , to everybody 's satisfaction .

A vote of thanks was then proposed by Dr Chandru Malkani who expressed his delight at what he said was by far the best of the Business Forum meetings held to date .

The Seminar participants then had the occasion for a one-to-one discussion over luncheon with the Guest Speakers .
