Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota has found a new way to pay his respect to his senior bhajan singer Hari Om Sharan. He has recorded Hari Om Sharan’s popular bhajan in his voice, and he is joined by other singers like Sadhana Sargam, Sonu Nigam, Richa Sharma and A. Hariharan in singing Hari Om Sharan’s popular bhajans in a special album, which will be released in USA during Hari Om Sharan – Nandini Sharan’s concert tour. The album will be made available only in the concerts of Hari Om Sharan-Nandini Sharan. The album is gifted as a token of respect to the senior bhajan singers. Anup Jalota will also participate in some of the concerts of Hari Om Sharan-Nandini Sharan in the USA.
Actress Sameera Reddy has come in place of ex-Miss World Priyanka Chopra in Dinesh Patel’s ‘Benaam’. Priyanka is said to have been troubling the producer for her dates, since she agreed to participate in the stage shows of actor Shah Rukh Khan in foreign countries and allotted the same dates for the shows.
Pakistani filmmaker Iqbal Kashmiri is making ‘Devdas’, with Reema playing Chandramukhi, Sona playing Paro, and Nadeem Shah making film debut as Devdas. In this film, Paro will also be shown in London with the hero, in two dream songs.
Actress Bipasha Basu plays a girl, whose sister gets killed in the 9/11 attack on the twin towers in America, and gets interested in counter terrorism. Bipasha’s real life boy friend John Abraham plays a counter terrorism expert, in the film ‘Madhashi’, in which the two have given some very hot scenes. Shweta Tiwari, better known as Prerna of TV serial ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ is also playing an important role.
Producer-director-actor Dev Anand has dropped his film on the life of sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar. He has started a new film titled, ‘Mr. Prime Minister’, after he did not get permission from Pandit Ravi Shankar and his family members, to throw open his life story to the public.
Famous choreographer and director Farah Khan got engaged to film editor Shirish Kunder. They are likely to get married soon.
Three members of the advisory body of Bombay regional office of the Central Board of Film Certification were forcibly removed from the venue of the documentary film festival – "Say No To Censorship". The three members – N. Dakshina Murthy, S. Jagannatha and B.N. Raghavendra tried to disrupt the function claiming that uncensored film was going to be screened. The helpless organisers had to call the police, who removed the C.B.F.C members from the venue. They also filed a police complaint against the organisers.
It is learnt that producer Gurinder Chadha is looking for another actress now, since actress and ex-Miss World Aishwasrya Rai is said to have demanded Rs. Five crore for the proposed second film after Gurinder Chadha’s ‘Bride and Prejudice’.
Kareena Kapoor has signed a film being made by Harry Baweja for Rs.
2.5 crores. She was charging Rs. 1.25 crores earlier, but since Harry
Baweja is introducing his son as hero opposite Kareena, she has demanded
such a high price.
