The Central Gurdwara (Khalsa Jatha) London Opens a New Additional Site in West Ealing W13 0JP
The Joint prayers of Gursikhs rendered in a true spirit, love and devotion of Waheguru Akal Purakh is always accepted in the House of True Lord. The Sangat of this Gurdwara Sahib was facing ever increasing difficulty in parking which is likely to get even worse due to this area coming into congestion charge zone as from February 2007. It was particularly frustrating and difficult for the elderly and the disabled to park at a distance and walk to the premises of the Gurdwara Sahib, more so in extreme cold and heavy rain. Some of them, to their utter disappointment, were very much discouraged to come to Gurdwara Sahib to pray.
The Sangat of this Gurdwara Sahib has always been sincerely praying for an additional new site with ample parking facilities. Guru Ji listened and answered their prayers by bestowing the Sangat with a very good site with 125 parking positions in Sawyers Lawn and Drayton Bridge Road west Ealing W 13 OJP. When this site came into the market the Sewaks with unanimous approval of the General Body siezed the opportunity and bought this new site. The response has been very encouraging. On getting the possession of the site on July 3, 2006, refurbishment started immediately with the cooperation and cash donations of the members of the Community.
This site has a great potential to be purpose built to promote the objectives of the Charity and to spread the message of universal brotherhood given by Guru Nanak. It will now be possible to provide better services to the elderly and the young. Because of the parking facilities the community will be encouraged to book more programmes at this new site which will further enhance the profile of this Great institution.
The inauguration of this site took place on September 8, 2006 at 9.30 AM when the Holy Granth Sahib was installed with full ceremony in the presence of Guru Roop Sadh Sangat and prominent personalities from other faiths and Akand Path Sahib was resumed at 10 AM for thanking Wahrguru Ji for His Bountiful Blessings.
The Bhog of Akhand Path was performed at 10 AM on Sunday 10th September followed by Keertan, Thanksgivings and Guru Ka Langar.
All this could not have been achieved without the sincere cooperation and blessings of the members of the Sadh Sangat. Every member of Gurdwara Sahib deserves appreciations and heartiest congratulations on this God-given gift which can be purpose built to benefit people of all ages particularly the elderly and the young.
