ROKO Cancer in Leicester

Roko Cancer Campaign by MKC Trust in its aim to bring awareness of Breast Cancer amongst diverse communities held a half - day conference and a charity dinner at Walkers Stadium, Filbert Way, Leicester LE2 7FL with the help of Leicester City Football Club.

The conference was aimed to the diverse communities and a lot of information in the form of screening of documentaries, distribution of leaflets in their own languages, talk by breast surgeon, oncologist and trained breast cancer medical nurse was given to general public.

Ms Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of Health also attended the conference.

The charity dinner in the evening was also attended by eminent figures from the world of political, administrative, educational, medical and business communities. Documentaries on breast cancer awareness were shown and people appreciated the work being done by the charity, including the Chief Guest Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of Health, Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Baroness Verma and Madhava Chandra of India High Commission. Substantial funds were raised for the charity work in the UK and India.
