Cold War

Time and again, people have been saying that a cold war is going-on between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. It was proved in presence of thousands of spectators, many top police officials, and some big politicians, when Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya were enjoying a cultural programme organized by the Mumbai Police in Andheri’s Sports Complex, and Shah Rukh Khan entered the venue with his team of Om Shanti Om. The Bachchans suddenly got up and moved towards the gate. The organizers were surprised at the move since they were preparing to invite the Bachchans on the stage. Shah Rukh Khan came face to face with Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya and coldly shook hands with only Amitabh. Whereas Aishwarya and Shah Rukh did not see eye to eye, Abhishek gave no reaction. Later, Shah Rukh Khan with his Om Shanti Om team performed on the stage.

More About Bachchans and Khan

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan celebrated her first birthday after marriage at Agra’s Taj Mahal with Abhishek, Amitabh and Jaya. She also celebrated her first Karwa-Chauth after her marriage at the Bachchan bungalow “Jalsa” in Mumbai. In the meantime, Amitabh Bachchan sang the title song of the film Aladdin, which was originally to be sung by Sanjay Dutt. With Sanjay Dutt remaining behind bars, the director couldnot postpone the project and gave the song to Amitabh Bachchan. Miss Sri Lanka, Jacqueline Fernandes is playing an important role in the film. It has been learnt that Amitabh Bachchan rammed the Amar Singh gifted Bentley into a Qualis just outside his bungalow “Jalsa” a few days back. He is reported to have zoomed without stepping out to see if the damage done to Qualis was serious. Another news about Amitabh is that he wanted to buy one whole floor in a building in Juhu-Vileparle Development Scheme. However, the builder politely refused, because film personalities attract unnecessary attention and the elderly people who reside there want solitude, and therefore Amitabh Bachchan couldnot buy the property. He already has three big bungalows in the JVPD Scheme. And one more news about Amitabh Bachchan is that he earned only rupees 2500 in the year 2006-2007 from the power generation company, the Energy Development Co. Ltd., while his politician friend Amar Singh earned more than rupees 32 lakhs. Now, some more news about Shah Rukh Khan. He has gifted a brand new white Mercedes Benz S350 to Farah Khan, the director of his home production Om Shanti Om, on his own birthday. But Shah Rukh Khan, forgot to mention the name of legendary music director Pyarelal (of Laxmikant-Pyarelal team). Pyarelal has composed a song “Dhoom Taana” for Om Shanti Om, which has Deepika Padukone cavorting with yesteryear matinee idols. The audio album which was recently released with great celebration, doesnot have any mention of Pyarelal.
FOREIGN ACTRESS IN MARATHI FILM

Probably first time in the history of Marathi films, a foreign actress has been signed to play the lead role. Bilyana Rhadonic, a Russian actress living in Dubai, will act opposite Marathi actor Girish Pardeshi in the film “Foreignchi Patlin”. Written by Pratap Gangawne, the film is being directed by Pradeep Ghonsikar for producer Sanjivani B. Gavai of the S4 Entertainment. P.M. Shinde’s lyrics are being set to music by Ashok Patki. The protagonist, a foreigner woman married to an Indian man whose roots are in a small village of Maharashtra, faces a tug of war with her mother-in-law. She finally adopts the Indian culture and makes her name in the village. The film is scheduled to be released in January 2008.
UNFAVOURABLE STARS OF FILM STARS

Some of the Indian film stars are being troubled by their unfavourable stars. There is bad news about some film stars, who are involved in court cases in India.

Aamir Khan was granted bail by an Indore court in a case of disrespect to the national flag. A non-bailable warrant against the actor was issued after he failed to appear thrice before the court to defend himself. However, in another case, Aamir Khan lost custody of his younger brother Faisal, when the metropolitan magistrate of a Mumbai court granted Faisal’s custody to his father Tahir Husain. It was a different kind of a case, which started with Aamir’s mother Zeenat filing a lost person report with the police after Faisal did not return to the house. Faisal is said to be suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. He has accused Aamir of forcibly giving him medicines and has said that “nothing is wrong with me”. Tahir Husain had claimed the custody of his son Faisal, while the other members of the family wanted Faisal to stay with Aamir and approached the court, where Faisal himself said that he wanted to stay with the father. Aamir’s plea was not accepted by the court.

Another star facing bad time is Sanjay Dutt. He had approached the Supreme Court to get bail after he was convicted and sentenced to six years’ rigorous imprisonment for illegally possessing an AK 56 rifle. The apex court did not grant him bail and he had to stay in the jail during Diwali.

Actor-producer-director Joginder was arrested by the police in a land-grabbing case.

Shah Rukh Khan also faced tough time recently. An NGO, Bhrashtachar Nirmoolan Sanghatana had filed a public interest litigation in the Bombay High Court alleging irregularities in the permissions granted to Shah Rukh Khan for the newly constructed building behind his Mannat bungalow at Band Stand, Bandra. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Shah Rukh Khan have been asked to explain within two weeks why the lane outside the building had been narrowed. The Municipal Corporation has reportedly said that it has not given any formal approval for the lane to be narrowed.

Actress Shilpa Shetty might have attained a very important person status in the UK, but she continues to face difficulties in India. She is neither getting any work, nor getting any respect. She was detained at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport of Mumbai, while she was flying to London in June. Once again, she had to remain in an isolated room for around 30 minutes when immigration authorities accosted and detained her. Infact, the infamous Richard Gere kiss case is still pending and a look out notice has been issued to all exit points by a Rajasthan court disallowing her from flying out of the country. The Supreme Court later granted her required permission to fly anywhere , but neither the authorities at the airport had a copy of the Supreme Court order, nor Shilpa Shetty was carrying it with her. After a gruelling interrogation, she was finally allowed to fly to Berlin. Shilpa and her mother Sunanda were reportedly fuming and said that inspite of her popularity world over, Shilpa was not being properly treated in India. In Berlin, her show “Miss Bollywood” had many problems. The organizers apologized on the stage and cancelled the show reportedly for not doing a brisk business. Moreover, Vaibhavi Merchant and Mark Brady of the famed all-Indian touring musical “The Merchants of Bollywood” have accused Shilpa and Morani brothers of lifting the theme of Miss Bollywood from The Merchants of Bollywood.

One more star, Hrithik Roshan is facing some trouble from the shopkeepers of Juhu area, who are demanding payment of bills which his sister Sunaina Roshan refuses to clear. The shopkeepers say that Sunaina makes purchases and goes without paying the bills.
