The Trafalgar Square event was free and open to all. It began at 11.30am with prayers, hymns and messages for peace performed by groups from London Gurdwaras (Sikh Temples). Free vegetarian food was provided by the Sikh community.

The afternoon included performances of traditional and modern Asian music and dance and DJs from Sunrise Radio including, R&B artist Jay Sean, whose new single "Maybe" has just been released, renowned singer Alyssia and UK Asian Music Awards newcomer award winner H-Dhami.

Awards were presented this year to young achievers from the Sikh community for their achievements in the arts, sport and education, or for the contribution they have made to the community.
