Air India Starts Flights To Ahmedabad From London
Air-India will commence direct services from London to Ahmedabad, Effective March 28, 2004. The introduction of these new direct services, to be operated on Fridays and Sundays, will obviate the need for passengers traveling between London and Ahmedabad to take flights either via Mumbai or Delhi. A spokesperson of Air - India said that strength of the India community, the single largest ethnic minority segment of the population in U.K. is currently estimated to be about 1.2 million. Amongst the India immigrants - Gujaratis constitute 37.5% of the ethnic group.
Air - India will, with the introduction of these new flights, have twelve services to India from London every week to three Indian cities - Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad. While all flights will terminate at Mumbai, six services will be direct to Delhi, four to Mumbai and two to Ahmedabad, Air - India also operate ten weekly services between London and United States - seven to New York and three to Chicago.
