Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue was in India for just a week to shoot a song with Akshay Kumar, for Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd.’s “Blue”, in which she has also sung a song. She insisted on implementing the “no entry” rule strictly for everybody, including the family members of the co-stars. She also refused to meet Shah Rukh Khan and also did not respond to the invitation from Sanjay Dutt, who wanted to host a party in her honour.

Sanjay Dutt has petitioned the Supreme Court of India for a stay on his conviction under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case. He wants to contest Lok Sabha election from Lucknow on Samajwadi Party’s ticket. He has been convicted an sentenced to six years’ rigorous imprisonment. He is out on bail, but cannot contest the election unless the Supreme Court grants him the stay.

The Rajasthan High Court has directed Karisma Kapoor and Sunny Deol to appear before Jaipur’s Additional Judicial Magistrate (Railways) for having illegally entered a railway station and pulled a train’s chain during the shooting of a film.

Nakul Nepali, son of lyricist late Gopal Singh Nepali has served legal notice to the makers of “Slumdog Millionaire”, since as per him, injustice has been done to his father. In reply to one of the questions in the film, the song “Darshan Do Ghanshyam” has been credited to Saint Surdas, while the song is written by Gopal Singh Nepali for the film “Narsi Bhagat”. It was confirmed by music director Ravi, under whose direction this song was sung by Hemant Kumar, Sudha Malhotra and Manna Day. So far Nakul Nepali has not received any response from the filmmakers or any of the artistes.

Singer Adnan Sami is in great trouble. His second time wife Sabah Galadari has asked Bombay High Court to throw Adnan and his father out of the 6000 sq. ft. house owned by Adnan but gifted to her after she remarried Adnan, following his divorce from his second wife. The income tax authorities have asked Adnan, a foreign national, as to how could he buy properties in India without obtaining permission. The authorities have also asked him to provide details of his income.

Late comedian Mehmood’s grandson Mihid Ali has been arrested by Bangalore police for allegedly sexually abusing his relative.

Indian model-turned-actress Freida Pinto of “Slumdog Millionaire” will appear in filmmaker Woody Allen’s next film. She is moving fast as far as her film acting is concerned, but back home, she has deserted her husband.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and the income tax department are at loggerheads. She had filed income tax returns of Rs. 11.46 crores, but had claimed an exemption for earning from star shows staged abroad. The income tax department’s contention is that the amount was earned for endorsements which donot fall in that category.

Shah Rukh Khan underwent a surgery on his shoulder. He was discharged from the hospital, the very next day but the sling will remain for a couple of weeks. Amitabh Bachchan visited Shah Rukh Khan at his residence to inquire about his well-being .

Producer Tahir Husain, father of Aamir Khan was served a bailable warrant and was released on a surety furnished by sound recordist Madan Prakash. Tahir Husain is in financial problems due to his unreleased film, “Dil Dhoondta Hai” and other films.

A session court in Mumbai discharged Belgian fashion photographer Van de Gaetan from an obscenity case slapped against him by the city police. He had to spend five months in jail with serious damage to his reputation. He came to Mumbai to shoot for some leading brands. Two aspiring models approached him to shoot them in the buff and he mailed their pictures to them, which was considered by the police as an act of obscenity.

Big Pictures has picked up the worldwide rights of Rakesh Roshan’s Anurag Basu directed “Kites” for a record highest price, which is not disclosed.

The police arrested the husband of actress Vidya Sinha on charges of torture. Vidya filed a complaint against her husband Netaji Salunkhe alleging mental and physical torture.

Shilpa Shetty was recently shooting at Nasik, when she decided to visit Shirdi Sai Baba temple. However, her bodyguard bought the pooja material, took the pooja thali for her but did not pay for the same. The hawker lost Rs. 500, which is a big amount for the poor hawker.

Nobody can change Salman Khan. He is again at it. Everybody in the film industry is talking about the incident involving Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. It is being said that Salman Khan physically thrashed Katrina Kaif, when she refused to keep distance with her co-star Akshay Kumar. Vistaar Religare Film Fund and Moviescorp Production’s “Siddharth – The Prisoner” has no entertainment. Ru Aryans Film Productions’ “The Hero – Abhimanyu” is a disaster. Prassanna Kothari Films Pvt. Ltd’s “Phir EkTehelka”, Sri Sai Lakshmi Films’ Tu Hi Durga Tu Hi Kaali”, JRD Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Universe Entertainment Ltd.’s “M.I. – 4 Invisible Target”, and Indo Overseas Films’ “Hai Kya Dum” have all flopped. Big Pictures’ “13 B” has not received any good response. UTV Motion Pictures’ “Dhoondte Reh Jaoge” is an ordinary fare. Rapture Productions’ “Karma Aur Holi” is a total loss. Nida Enterprises’ “Khakee” has nothing to offer.


Shravan Films International and Bollywood Calling’s “Kaashh…Mere Hote” starring one time superstar Rajesh Khanna, is a disaster. Artesian Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Mixed Blood Cinema, Varun Khanna Productions and Digiquest India Pvt. Ltd.’s “Bad Luck Govind” has the real bad luck. Ramesh Sippy Entertainment’s English film “The President Is Coming” has good performances from Konkona Sen Sharma, Ira Dubey, Rohit Seth and others; but cannot get the audience. Royal Film Company’s “Meri Adalat” with Mahesh Babu can attract only small centre crowd. Warner Bros., Ramesh Sippy Entertainment and People Tree Films Pvt. Ltd.’s “Chandni Chowk To China” starring Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, MIthun Chakraborty and Gordon Liu & Roger Yuan is a poor fare. Sony & BMG Music Entertainment and Vishesh Films’ “Raaz – The Mystery Continues” with Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman gets good response. Muzikzon Entertainment’s “Aasma – Sky Is The Limit” fails to attract viewers. Celador Films’ “Slumdog Crorepati” dubbed from Slumdog Millionaire is an eight-Oscar winning excellent film, but is poorly received at the box-office. B.BK. Movies’ “Ek Baar Dhol Bajao Na” is a poor fare. A-One Cine Creation’s “Chaska – An Addiction” holds no appeal. Excel Entertainment’s “Luck By Chance” starring Farhan Akhtar, Konkona Sen Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and John Abraham has not got the desired response. Victory Moving Pictures and Walkwater Media’s “Victory” is totally rejected. Seven Wonder Entertainment’s “Ek Aur Jigarbaaz” is a flop. S.H. Creations’ “Yamraaj – Ek Faulad” is another flop. Monofilms’”Mummy Island – Bhethal Dweep” is a Thai fantasy adventure, but has nothing interesting for the audience. Columbia Pictures’ Supergirl – 4” is also uninteresting. K. Sera Sera Productions Ltd.’s “Chal Chala Chal” with Govinda, Reema Sen, Rajpal Yadav and Om Puri can hardly walk. UTV Spotboy and Bindaas’ “Dev D” may find some young audience, but not for long. PVR Pictures ad Ekaa Films’ “Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye” has no chances at the ox-office. SPE Films India Pvt. Ltd.’s “Underworld 3 – Darindo Ki Bagaawat”, Hindi version of Underworld : Rise Of The Lycans and The Weinstein Company & Ascendant Pictures’ “Kurukshetra”, Hindi version of Outlander are both rejected. Red Chillies Entertainment’s “Billu” is a good film with Irrfan Khan, Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Manoj Joshi, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav. Though it has a poor opening, it will pick up due to positive word of mouth. Promodome Films’ “Jugaad” is a disaster. Vistaar Religare Film Fund and Kaleidoscope Entertainment’s “The Stoneman Murders” is a flop. Balaji Karishma Films’ “The Strong Man Baadal” has no chance at the box-office. UTV Motion Pictures and Rakeys Omprakash Mehra Pictures Pvt. Ltd.’s “Delhi – 6” starring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri, Waheeda Rehman, Raghubir Yadav and Amitabh Bachchan in a guest appearance, doesnot attract audience. Royal Film Company’s “Trishul – The Weapon Never Fails”, with Chiranjeevi, has failed. Sidhesh Films Pvt. Ltd. And K. Sera Sera Productions Ltd.’s “Kisse Pyaar Karoon?” is a poor show. Walkwater Media, Alliance Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.,
